Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-7116 is contained within a 5km exclusion designated as Area-7116, as a response to the broadcasts originating from SCP-7116-A. To prevent the spread of SCP-7116 in the environment, four signal jamming towers have been established in each cardinal direction. These towers must be properly maintained at all times to ensure upkeep. Area-7116 has been designated as a signal-restricted site, with continuous monitoring to ensure essential radio equipment is rotated on a 24-hour basis to prevent contamination.
Authorized radio communications within Area-7116 are restricted solely for anomalous research. Approved alternative communication methods are limited to hardwired phone lines, with a receiver located at each major building within the area. In the event of an emergency, radio communication is permitted, albeit usage is restricted to only the passing of vital communication. All communication channels within Area-7116 are to be continuously monitored for signs of SCP-7116 interference. Contact between foundation sites must be made outside of the effective range of SCP-7116.
All equipment entering or exiting Area-7116 must undergo inspection for signs of contamination by SCP-7116. In the event that an object has undergone alteration by SCP-7116, the object is marked as an SCP-7116-C instance and will need to be secured within the onsite faraday cage to prevent the SCP-7116-C instances from propagating to other devices. The initial SCP-7116-C instance was contained within a faraday cage at Site-333, however after the construction of Area-7116, it was moved to the main containment storage onsite.
Intercepted SCP-7116 transmissions must undergo conversion into non-auditory formats prior to analysis. In cases where audio review is deemed necessary, exposure to the raw SCP-7116 broadcasts is limited to no more than 45 minutes within a 24-hour period. Research involving audio study requires Level 3 authorisation.
In the case of a scenario wherein SCP-7116 transmissions begin demonstrating personalized or targeted content, any personnel exposed to the transmissions are to be immediately removed from active duty and placed under quarantine for psychological evaluation. Individuals reporting continued perception of SCP-7116 transmissions in the absence of a contaminated device are to be treated as potential transmitters and isolated outside of the effective range within Area-7116 until symptoms disappear.
Due to SCP-7116-A's immobile nature, the entrance to SCP-7116-A is to be guarded by no less than two Security Personnel at a time, rotating in shifts of 2 hours each. Security personnel must be aware of potential SCP-7116-B instances attempting to exit the mine. SCP-7116-B instances emerging from SCP-7116-A are to be subdued, if in the event the SCP-7116-B instance displays hostile behavior, making non-lethal containment impossible, lethal force is approved and study will be conducted on the carcass.
Note by Doctor K. Parker
Reminding all staff onsite that SCP-7116 does not require deliberate tuning to be received through our communications and exposure may occur without direct interaction with communication devices, specifically through close proximity to SCP-7116-B instances.
If in the case a broadcast appears to address you directly, please contact your direct supervisor and have the incident logged in our report page in the main office. Do not attempt to verify the source of the broadcast.
Not all transmissions originate from within SCP-7116-A.
- Doctor K. Parker.
Description:
SCP-7116 is an anomalous radio frequency first detected in the vicinity of Mt. ████, Siberia, most commonly detected at 182.3 MHz, though the signal has been rarely observed manifesting across a broad and inconsistent range of frequencies. Whilst most commonly transmitted through radio transmitters and receivers, SCP-7116 is able to propagate through both active and inactive electronic devices and in rare cases, living individuals. Devices within 5km of the origin point of SCP-7116 will undergo progressive anomalous alteration after 24-72 hours of exposure, eventually gaining the ability to receive and broadcast SCP-7116 independent of power sources, signal range or hardware limitations. Altered devices are designated as SCP-7116-C instances.
SCP-7116 broadcasts consist of looping distress signals, using the voices of individuals confirmed to be deceased or missing within SCP-7116-A. Following continued exposure to SCP-7116, the transmissions begin to incorporate specified information relevant to individuals exposed to the frequency, including names, memories and emotionally significant events. This behavior is consistent in all SCP-7116 broadcasts transmitted through SCP-7116-C instances.
SCP-7116 transmissions have demonstrated the ability to influence behavior of exposed individuals, encouraging subjects to approach the origin point of the signal, or isolate themselves from others if within SCP-7116-A. Prolonged exposure may result in exposed individuals hearing SCP-7116 broadcasts in the absence of any receiving devices, and in extreme cases, producing the signals themselves. Living beings producing SCP-7116 frequencies are designated as SCP-7116-B instances.
SCP-7116-A Entrance
SCP-7116-A is a mineshaft located on the eastern side of Mt. ████, Siberia. The entrance to SCP-7116-A shows signs of heavy erosion, it seems to be degrading despite the lack of water. The entrance leads into a tunnel with a steady decline at an angle of 28°. The tunnels of SCP-7116-A lack any sources of illumination, an external source of light is required for explorations into SCP-7116-A. After approximately 1.2km, the decline returns to a flat 0°. The tunnel forward contains several railroads, empty mine carts and other mining tools, implying miners from the 1840s once operated inside. Proceeding past this entry point, the spatial consistency within SCP-7116-A begins to degrade. Tunnels have been observed to shift in length, loop back onto themselves, or end altogether in nonsensical directions. Areas where SCP-7116 broadcasts the strongest tend to display non-euclidean geometry.
Exploration logs documented in the initial expedition of SCP-7116-A have logged the presence of enclosed spaces resembling residential homes, urban structures and other architecture within the mine itself. These environments seemingly correspond to locations of personal significance to individuals within SCP-7116-A. Structural inconsistencies have been noted, with structures commonly including altered layouts, missing features and distorted scale, suggesting these environments are reconstructed from information sources akin to a degrading memory.
Several areas within SCP-7116-A lead to large abrupt drops of indeterminate depth. These regions appear to lack any architecture and are currently believed to be void zones where SCP-7116-A has not yet fully manifested environmental constructs, supporting evidence being SCP-7116’s weakened signal strength within these zones.
Written messages have also been documented appearing along the walls of SCP-7116-A’s tunnels. These messages vary in content, age and composition, however much like the behavior of SCP-7116, they seem to update or change in response to match specific exposed individuals, with the contents of the messages becoming increasingly personalized during prolonged exposure.
SCP-7116-B instances are living entities believed to be the result of prolonged exposure to SCP-7116, most commonly found within SCP-7116-A. SCP-7116-B instances are humanoid in structure, with their physical traits varying significantly, with disproportionate limbs and features. Recorded footage of SCP-7116-B instances show irregular movement patterns, including delayed motion and desynchronization between audio and visual presence.
SCP-7116-B instances have displayed extremely coordinated predatory behavior, operating in groups to induce psychological stress in their targets. Much like SCP-7116-C, they function as transmitters for SCP-7116, with dissection of previous SCP-7116-B carcasses resulting in the discovery of a specialized mutated larynx capable of producing frequencies able to be picked up by radio devices within a 1km radius. SCP-7116-B instances appear to work off of a shared hivemind intrinsically linked to SCP-7116’s signal strength, as SCP-7116-B instances have been recorded ceasing motion within areas of reduced signal strength such as SCP-7116-A’s void zones.
SCP-7116-C refers to any objects contaminated by SCP-7116’s prolonged effects. SCP-7116-C objects produce the SCP-7116 broadcast at a consistent 62db. Affected objects show no need for power to operate, and will continue to broadcast SCP-7116’s signal until the object is physically destroyed or the internal components have degraded to an inoperable state. If an SCP-7116-C object has a digital screen, it will always display the radio channel “FM 182.3”. SCP-7116-C objects become transmitters themselves following contamination, capable of infecting other radio based electronics within a 1km radius.
Addendum-7116
On March 7th 20██, the Foundation communications team within 4.2km from Mt. ████ intercepted a transmission on Frequency Modulation 182.3. The transmission was a looping SOS message requesting help at the following [REDACTED] coordinates. The voice was that of Doctor ███, who six months prior to the transmission, had disappeared during a hike in the same mountain region. Mobile Task Force Unit Eta-11 “Savage Beasts” sent a squad of task force operatives to investigate the site.
PVT. Morrison was the only member to survive the expedition, the surviving video log can be accessed in the document below with those of at least Level 2 clearance. Included is the list of members involved in the initial investigation of SCP-7116.

[BEGIN LOG]
Following investigation in the surrounding area, MTF Eta-11 located the entrance to SCP-7116-A and an SCP-7116-C instance outside, initially believed to be the source anomaly SCP-7116 itself. Shortly after obtaining SCP-7116-C, a small base of operations was established. Before the expedition into SCP-7116-A, all members of Charlie-3 were equipped with standard-issue M4 rifles set to semi-automatic, a flashlight attachment equipped onto each rifle. Each operative was provided with a shoulder mounted camera, however due to interference in video signals, a live feed could not be consistently maintained. Radio communication remained stable during initial descent, with no anomalous interference detected. Surviving footage of the expedition was recovered from PVT. Morrison’s shoulder camera.
07:13 | 3/7/█
Footage begins with PVT. Morrison adjusting the straps on his vest. Doctor K. Parker can be heard on the radio.
Dr. Parker “Are communications working?”
SGT. Mcfoe “Loud and clear, Doc.”
Dr. Parker “…Hold on. Say that again.”
SGT. Mcfoe “We’re loud and clear, Doc.”
Dr. Parker “Copy. Minor duplication on my end, continue as standard. Check equipment is functional.”
Mcfoe looks toward Morrison, he gives Morrison a gentle nod as he proceeds to check his flashlight and rifle. Morrison quickly looks down and checks his equipment, they appear to be functioning.
PVT. Morrison “Equipment functional sir!”
CPL. Williams “No need to be so stiff Rookie, this is your first operation, enjoy it.”
CPL. Brooks nods in agreement. SGT. Mcfoe tosses a make-shift strap to Morrison.
SGT. Mcfoe “Since you’ve been so eager for an operation, why don’t you strap that anomalous radio to your belt and take care of it?”
PVT. Morrison “Of course sir! I won’t let you down!”
Morrison fumbles with the strap before finally attaching it to his vest and firmly strapping in SCP-7116-C. He then salutes.
SGT. Mcfoe “That’s the spirit, Rookie!”
Mcfoe pats Morrison on his back as he activates his comms to Dr. Parker.
SGT. Mcfoe “Equipment is all up and running Doc, we’re heading in now”
Dr. Parker “Understood, proceed with caution, update me if you notice anything out of the ordinary.”
08:20 | 3/7/█
SGT. Mcfoe holds up his hand as they reach a diverting path in the tunnels.
SGT. Mcfoe "SGT Mcfoe to Parker, come in."
Dr. Parker "Loud and clear, give me an update."
SGT. Mcfoe "It's really dark down here, our flashlights are doing magic though. We've reached a split path, what's the plan?"
Dr. Parker "Split into groups of two, keep me updated on anything you find."
SGT. Mcfoe "Copy that, Mcfoe out."
Mcfoe turns around and points to Morrison.
SGT. Mcfoe "Rookie, you're with me, we'll investigate the left. Echo, Ten, you two go right and keep me updated."
CPL. Williams "Understood Sarge."
Williams is seen motioning to Brooks as Morrison turns to face Mcfoe, Mcfoe takes the lead and cautiously walks into the left tunnel. Morrison follows closely behind. SCP-7116-C continues to play its SOS message.
PVT. Morrison "Hey Sarge, do you think we're gonna find anything cool down here?"
SGT. Mcfoe "We can only hope, Rookie, otherwise it makes all this effort a complete waste."
PVT. Morrison "I wouldn't say it's a waste, an adventure is still an adventure yeah, Sarge?"
Mcfoe pauses. Morrison leans over to see the reason for the sudden halt.
SGT. Mcfoe "SGT. Mcfoe to Parker. How copy?"
Dr. Parker "I’m experiencing some interference in the signal, but clear enough, send traffic."
SGT. Mcfoe "I got some writing on the wall of this mineshaft."
Dr. Parker "What does it say?"
SGT. Mcfoe "It's hard to make out, it seems really old."
Morrison steps up to the wall to inspect it, the large words written in feces stains across it.
PVT. Morrison "Fear that which watches…"
Morrison turns to Mcfoe, Mcfoe shoots Morrison a look of confusion.
SGT. Mcfoe "That is creepy…"
PVT. Morrison “I didn’t peg you for a scaredy pants, Sarge.”
SGT. McFoe “No Rookie it isn’t that.”
Mcfoe appears to be lost in thought, staring blankly at the words.
PVT. Morrison “You okay, Sarge?”
SGT. Mcfoe “Fear that which watches, it was a campfire story told by my Scout Master when I was a kid.”
PVT. Morrison “Bloody hell… That is creepy.”
Dr. Parker "Clear chatter and keep moving."
SGT. Mcfoe "Copy that. Mcfoe out"
Mcfoe taps Morrison on the shoulder and motions for him to continue following. Morrison looks back at the writing on the wall, pausing for a moment, the writing changed but is too intelligible to understand clearly. He then turns and follows Mcfoe. As they continue forward, the pair come across two open tunnels on the left and right of the main hallway they are walking down. Mcfoe motions for Morrison to investigate the right. Morrison holds his rifle at the ready. He approaches the large open room on the other side of the tunnel. In front of him is an urban homestead, seemingly abandoned and unkempt for years. Morrison shudders upon seeing the building.
SGT. Mcfoe "Rookie, how copy?"
Morrison stares at the building, seemingly in shock.
SGT. Mcfoe "Respond, Morrison, how copy?"
PVT. Morrison "Sorry Sarge, I'm here"
SGT. Mcfoe "What did ya find in there, Rookie?"
PVT. Morrison "It's… My childhood home sir, I'd recognize that house anywhere."
SGT. Mcfoe "You sure, Rookie?"
PVT. Morrison "I can't make it up, Sarge, should I investigate?"
SGT. Mcfoe "Hold on, I'll make my way back to you."
Mcfoe's footsteps are heard growing louder as he approaches. Morrison’s radio begins to output a soft static.
SGT. Mcfoe "What's up with your radio Rookie?"
PVT. Morrison "I'm not sure, it's just making a static sound."
SGT. Mcfoe "Doc, are you getting this?"
Mcfoe activates his radio, Dr. Parker’s voice comes through, however it appears to be directly clashing with another voice.
Dr. Parker "Po-.. si_-al, st-.. where y-.. ar-."
Mcfoe fiddles with his radio, however the static and the voice persists. Morrison watches on. In the corner of the frame movement is shown. Morrison turns to where he thought the motion was, he finds himself staring at the rocky corner of the open room. Morrison displays partial confusion before his radio roars to life, he turns to face Mcfoe.
SGT. Mcfoe "Doc, can you hear us?"
No response. After waiting several moments, the voice of Corporal Williams can be heard.
CPL. Williams "Hey, can anyone hear me?"
PVT. Morrison "Is that Echo?"
Mcfoe attempts to speak through his radio.
SGT. Mcfoe “Echo, loud and clear, what’s the situation with you?”
Mcfoe’s radio emits static. However Williams’ voice persists.
SGT. Mcfoe “Williams, do you copy?”
Morrison turns and looks down at the SCP-7116-C object, pulling it from his vest and raising it up for Mcfoe to see. CPL Williams’ voice is coming from SCP-7116-C.
PVT. Morrison “Sarge, it’s coming from the anomaly.”
SGT. Mcfoe “Let me have a look.”
Mcfoe takes the anomaly and inspects it for a moment, fidgeting with its dials and buttons to no avail. He attempts to radio in again. CPL Brooks’ voice can be heard from a distance, getting louder as footsteps can be heard. Eventually CPL Brooks can be seen sprinting through the tunnel, stopping in front of Morrison and Mcfoe, leaning forward panting.
CPL. Brooks “Ten to Sarge, can you hear me?”
SGT. Mcfoe “Ten, where have you been?”
Brooks takes a moment to catch her breath before standing up and adjusting her gear.
CPL. Brooks “After we split up from you two, Echo and I made it through the tunnel, one that already had one of our markings on it.”
SGT. Mcfoe “So that markings have been compromised.”
CPL. Brooks “Seems so. Outside the tunnel we found ourselves in this underground city. Like a modern day kind of city. I thought it was just another anomalous trait of this place but Echo… She was shaking, like she was held in place by pure fear.”
Morrison and Mcfoe turn their heads to each other, exchanging looks before Morrison asks Brooks to continue.
PVT. Morrison “Well do you know why?”
CPL. Brooks “She said the place was familiar, something about a hazy memory?”
SGT. Mcfoe “So the anomaly is pulling from our memories. That matches the writing on the wall and the house behind us.”
PVT. Morrison “So where is Echo now?”
CPL. Brooks “We got split up. We tried documenting everything in the city, but even though it seemed empty, it felt like… Something else was in there watching us.”
PVT. Morrison “I felt that too.”
SGT. Mcfoe “What do you mean?”
PVT. Morrison “Just earlier, I saw it in the corner of my eye, but I swear I saw movement behind the house.”
Mcfoe looks around the area, motioning to the other two to follow him into the house. Despite its deteriorating appearance, Mcfoe finds a secure room within the house and barricades the unit within.
SGT. Mcfoe “So you and Echo got split up?”
CPL. Brooks “Not exactly. We came here to find the missing researcher that was broadcasting from this mineshaft, right?”
PVT. Morrison “Yeah, Dr. ███ right?”
CPL. Brooks “Dr. ███, we found him, but… He looked wrong. Like his arms were too long, there was a delay in each step he took, like the sounds of his steps would lag behind, he didn’t look sick despite the fact he went missing six months ago.”
Brooks takes off her shoulder camera, connecting it to a tablet and plays back the recording for Mcfoe and Morrison to see. Afterward, Brooks remounts her shoulder camera, looking at the others to gauge their reactions.
PVT. Morrison “That’s just not right…”
SGT. Mcfoe “Was he aggressive?”
CPL. Brooks “Not quite. As far as I could tell, he was just shambling around. But he was making this high pitched hum. It freaked out Echo so much that she picked a direction and sprinted off.”
SGT. Mcfoe “I see.”
Mcfoe thinks to himself for a moment before removing the barricades from the door.
SGT. Mcfoe “We’re leaving, taking the information we have back to the white coats.”
PVT. Morrison “What about Echo?”
SGT. Mcfoe “If you didn’t figure it out already, Echo has become whatever Dr. ███ is now.”
PVT. Morrison “That’s why she’s on the broadcast.”
CPL. Brooks “I don’t think that’s Echo anymore.”
SGT. Mcfoe “It doesn’t matter what it is. We’re not staying here long enough to find out. We move back the way we came. No detours, no splitting up.”
Morrison and Brooks move closely behind Mcfoe, with Morrison taking SCP-7116-C from Mcfoe and strapping it back onto his vest. SCP-7116-C is still playing the distress broadcast, using Williams’ voice. The unit walks for ten minutes, re-entering the cave tunnels. The silence between them is interrupted by Williams broadcasting through the communications channel.
CPL. Williams “Sarge? Ten? Rookie? Can any of you hear me?”
Morrison’s breathing becomes audibly uneven.
PVT. Morrison “It’s Echo… It’s actually Echo!”
CPL. Brooks “No. No, that isn’t her.”
CPL. Williams “I’m still alive, I’m just injured. I need help.”
Morrison raises his finger to activate his radio, however Mcfoe quickly snatches his wrist.
PVT. Morrison “But Sarge-”
SGT. Mcfoe “Rookie, check the anomaly.”
Morrison removes SCP-7116-C from his chest. CPL. Williams' voice is broadcasting through both the Mcfoe and Morrison’s radios and the anomaly.
PVT. Morrison “Our radios! I can’t change the channel.”
Morrison fiddles with his radio, the screen displaying FM182.3, despite Morrison’s efforts, his attempts to change the channel result in failure. Dr. Parker’s voice can be heard through CPL. Brooks’ radio. Brooks hands it over to Mcfoe.
SGT. Mcfoe “Doc, what the hell is going on with our comms?”
Dr Parker “Stop using the radios!”
SGT. Mcfoe “What?”
Dr. Parker “Stop using them! The source anomaly. It isn’t the object. It’s the broadcast itself!”
Dr. Parker’s voice seems to be combating another voice before CPL. Brooks radio begins transmitting the broadcast from FM182.3.
SGT. Mcfoe “We’re cut off. Your ear pieces, get rid of them!”
Morrison, Brooks and Mcfoe take out their earpieces and stomp on them. Morrison looks back up to Mcfoe as SCP-7116-C once again speaks.
CPL. Williams “Please, don’t leave me.”
Movement can be seen to Morrison’s far right. Morrison notices and turns around. Standing in the tunnel is CPL Williams, her body warped and disfigured. She is standing still, staring at the unit. Behind her is Dr. ███, appearing the same as seen on Brooks’ video recording. There is silence before SCP-7116-C activates once more.
CPL. Williams “Please, don’t leave me.”
Williams’ voice comes through the speaker before her mouth moves. Morrison doesn’t take his eyes off of Williams. A rumbling can be heard in the distance as SCP-7116-C begins speaking with multiple voices. The sound of the broadcast, all conflicting messages and voices fills the tunnel. Mcfoe grabs Morrison and shoves him back. Brooks and Mcfoe raise their rifles and begin firing at the approaching horde of SCP-7116-B instances.
PVT. Morrison “Sarge!”
SGT. Mcfoe “Go! Find the exit, Brooks and I are right behind you!”
PVT. Morrison “But-”
CPL. Brooks “You have the object, get it back to HQ!”
The footsteps grow louder as Williams and Dr. ███ begin shambling forward. Mcfoe and Brooks open fire on the entities as the silhouettes of more instances can be seen approaching rapidly. The gunfire is drowned out as Morrison sprints away holding SC-7116-C. After a few minutes of running SCP-7116-C begins broadcasting with the voice of Mcfoe and Brooks. Morrison can be heard audibly sobbing, as he approaches the exit of SCP-7116-A. He leaps out of SCP-7116-A and rolls down the slope. Dr. Parker is seen approaching an unconscious Private Morrison.

- GRANTED INTERVIEW LOG 3/7/█
Interviewed: Private Andrew Morrison
Interviewer: Doctor K███ Parker
Foreword: Following the initial recovery of SCP-7116-C, Private Morrison was interviewed a few hours after regaining consciousness.
<Begin Log>
Dr. Parker: "So what happened?"
PVT. Morrison: "It was fine at first, just a normal in and out mission. Creepy as hell sure, but that's what you get in this line of work."
Dr. Parker: "When exactly did you notice a change in the environment?"
Private Morrison fidgets with his thumbs.
PVT. Morrison: "After the mineshaft, Doc things started getting weird after the mineshaft. It felt like we had been walking for hours but…"
Dr. Parker: “But what?”
PVT. Morrison: “Rooms were moving in on themselves, rotating. We’d enter one room and that hallway would lead us back the way we came.”
Dr. Parker: “Could this be disorientation from the broadcast anomaly?”
PVT. Morrison: “It was more than that. We were leaving field codes behind as standard protocol. But when we looped back around, the code had been changed, like it had aged forty years.”
Dr. Parker: “As expected, the mineshaft itself also carries anomalous properties. Mcfoe mentioned writing on the wall as well. I would like to ask about that.”
PVT. Morrison: “What do you want to know specifically?”
Dr. Parker: “After reviewing the surviving recordings from your shoulder camera, I noticed the wall on the text had changed after Mcfoe had reviewed it, and I think you knew that too. It's too blurry to see on the video recording, so I wanted to know if you had a good look.”
Morrison looks visibly uncomfortable, his eyes darting around the room, avoiding Dr. Parker’s.
Dr. Parker: “Morrison. I don’t believe I need to remind you that any information you may have is crucial to understanding the anomaly.”
A few minutes pass, Morrison seems to be mentally weighing a decision in his head, shortly after he answers.
PVT. Morrison: “It was my sister’s birthday.”
Dr. Parker: “It seems the anomaly can be drawn from memories to project through broadcasts or writing on the walls. My question is why choose your sister’s birthday?”
PVT. Morrison: “I don’t know… My sister drowned in a pool when she was only six. I was meant to be the one watching, but I was too busy impressing my friends. When I saw the writing I felt so mad, It’s like it was taunting me.”
Dr. Parker: “Interesting, thank you for sharing that. Moving onto the house, you mentioned feeling like you had forgotten something important when you entered what was seemingly a distorted recreation of your childhood home, correct?”
PVT. Morrison: “Like my head had holes in it, yeah.”
Dr. Parker: “Judging by what happened to your former team members, the anomaly could’ve been attempting to hijack your brain by putting you under stress.”
PVT. Morrison: “What do you mean, Doc?”
Dr. Parker: “Currently, we believe the source anomaly is the broadcast itself, initially hijacking the frequency it currently resides in. As seen with your radios, it can spread to other devices.”
PVT. Morrison: “So it spreads?”
Dr. Parker: “Exactly, and I think the mineshaft creates rooms by pulling from a victim's memories. With those gaps, the frequency can hide within and eventually hijack a victim, leading to what you saw stalking you down there.”
PVT. Morrison: “Brooks said they found someone down there that fit the description of Dr. ███. But she said he looked wrong, like an imitation.”
Dr. Parker: "A lot is still unclear right now. However, I can guarantee you we will be forwarding resources into future expeditions."
PVT. Morrison: “Wait what? No, that's a really bad idea.”
Dr. Parker: “As with all anomalies, research must be conducted in order to gain a deeper understanding of the anomaly, and potentially permanently contain it, or reverse its effects.”
PVT. Morrison: “You don’t understand, Doc! These things, the thing that used Sarge’s voice, you heard it, we don’t know how deep it is! We can’t go back down there, we were only scratching the surface!”
Dr. Parker: “Morrison. I can assure you the appropriate time and resources will be dedicated to ensure future expeditions are safe and can be carried out without casualties. This anomaly needs to be studied, I don’t need to remind you that we are here to protect, do I?”
Morrison stares blankly at the table. After ten minutes of silence and note taking, Dr. Parker puts down his notebook and looks over to Morrison.
Dr. Parker: “Before we conclude this interview, is there anything else you would like to add?”
Morrison looks up toward Dr. Parker.
PVT. Morrison: “Don’t make me go back down there.”
Dr. Parker: “Alright, I understand. I’ll contact your superiors to have you reassigned.”
Dr. Parker stands up and makes his way to the door, pausing in the doorway.
Dr. Parker: "I really am sorry about your squad members, they were good people. I hope we can prevent anyone else from meeting the same fate."
<End Log>
Closing Statement: Private Morrison was offered Class-A amnestics to help cope with the events of the operation. He declined.
