Special Containment Procedures: SCP-9274 is to be kept fully disassembled into its 248 individual segments, contained in an item storage locker located at Site-24. The locker is to be secured with several locks to prevent unauthorized access.
Description: SCP-9274 is a collection of 248 detachable, triangular wedge-shaped segments similar to those found on a standard Rubik's Snake puzzle toy. Each individual piece is composed of a high-density plastic polymer, with half of the collection-colored matte black and the other half stark white. While the pieces can be manually snapped together and rotated like a mundane toy, they exhibit anomalous properties when configured into specific shapes.
When assembled, SCP-9274 transforms based on human thought. If a person links the pieces into the basic shape of an object, such as a toy gun, and imagines its appearance in their head, the puzzle will turn into a working version of that item. The current limits of what it can create and the method and how it does this is unknown. This change only happens when the user breaks line of sight, such as by blinking or looking away. The newly created item works perfectly, but it is strictly limited to a black and white geometric color pattern similar to that found on SCP-9274's original form. It will keep this functional shape until someone visualizes the puzzle's original form.

Item Imagined: A plastic toy wind-up car.
Procedure: Dr. Park connected 20 segments of SCP-9274 into a crude, boxy shape with four small pieces as "wheels" at the bottom, then set it on the table. While imagining a childhood wind-up toy, Dr. Park closed his eyes for two seconds.
Results: The laboratory camera feed experienced static for a second. When the video cleared, the table had a plastic toy wind-up car, resembling a van. The chassis was white, the wheels were black, and the mechanical wind-up key on the back was fully operable. When wound, the toy rolled forward normally.
Notes: After the car traveled two meters, Dr. Park picked it up and intentionally snapped the plastic wind-up key off. Dr. Park then visualized it as the original puzzle, and it returned to the original form, though one piece was detached due to the plastic wind-up key detaching. SCP 9274 seems to match the final shape of the item before being transformed back into a Rubik's Snake puzzle.

Item Imagined: A simple plastic stick.
Procedure: Dr. Park connected 24 segments of SCP-9274 into a straight line, then set it on the testing table. Dr. Park visualized a plain plastic rod and closed his eyes for two seconds.
Results: The laboratory camera feed experienced static for a second. When the video cleared, a solid plastic stick sat on the table, featuring an alternating matte black and stark white striped pattern. Dr. Park then used a brush to completely coat the stick in thick green acrylic paint and allowed it to dry for a few minutes. Once dried, Dr. Park visualized the object returning to its original puzzle form.
Notes: The stick immediately reverted back to the 24 loose puzzle segments. However, the green paint did not transform with the pieces. Instead, the dried green paint seemed to have shattered and collapsed into a loose pile of random layers and powder on the testing table around the segments.

Procedure: Dr. Park connected around 50 segments of SCP-9274 into a hollow, cylindrical shape and placed it on the testing table. He visualized a standard, clear plastic bottle completely filled with drinking water, then closed his eyes for two seconds.
Results: The laboratory camera feed experienced static for a second. When the video cleared, a functional plastic water bottle sat on the table. The bottle cap was stark white, and the main container body featured a matte black and white geometric pattern. However, upon inspection, the bottle was completely empty and bone-dry on the inside.
Notes: This discovery confirms that SCP-9274 cannot manifest liquids, organic material, or contents separate from the structural object being imagined. Dr. Park then visualized the container returning to its original state, and it immediately reverted into the 50 loose puzzle segments.
Addendum 02: Before advancing to more volatile objects, I will be waiting on Site security to clear a specialized chamber. Standard ballistics and safety protocols must be fully in place before handling lethal manifestations. This pause will also allow the engineering team to run routine diagnostic checks on the laboratory camera feeds to ensure the repeated static bursts due to the anomalous properties of SCP-9274 have not caused long-term hardware damage. We will be resuming testing by next week, testing the limits of what it can transform into, while also attempting to discover how it transforms. Incident Report 9274-1
On June █, ████, an unauthorized extraction attempt of SCP-9274 resulted in a localized containment breach in the storage room containing SCP-9274. Logistics Clerk █████ █████, who had been compromised by an external espionage network, managed to slip into the low-risk anomalous object wing during a hectic shift change. Utilizing a cloned keycard from an unknown origin and timing his movements perfectly between security patrols, █████ bypassed the secondary checkpoints undetected and quietly entered the room. He located the simple plastic storage box holding SCP-9274 and quickly transferred all 248 segments into a heavy-duty canvas transport bag. However, before he could make his exit, a facility maintenance worker conducting routine end-of-shift lockups passed by the corridor. Assuming the room was empty based on the darkened interior, the worker manually engaged the heavy pneumatic secondary locks from the exterior control panel, trapping █████ inside.
Realizing his quiet escape route was entirely cut off and hearing a newly dispatched security patrol approaching the external corridor for standard rounds, █████ panicked. He emptied around 47 plastic segments onto the floor, snapped a handful of them into a rough L-shape, and tried to use the anomaly to manifest a loaded semi-automatic pistol to force his way through the locked door. This incident exposed critical vulnerabilities in keeping the anomaly in an unmonitored, low-security environment. While the manifested weapon was unloaded, the event proved that an unauthorized operator can easily infiltrate the wing and successfully fabricate firearms. Had the subject possessed greater tactical discipline or a clearer mental state, the anomaly could have been used to produce functional weaponry completely undetected. Following the incident, the research team is actively developing more stringent security protocols and physical safety features to prevent unauthorized manifestation events.
