Special Containment Procedures: All personnel working on SCP-9510 must be up-to-date on their cognitohazard inoculations. Knowledge of SCP-9510 is limited to personnel with Level 3/9510 or Level 5 clearance.
SCP-9510 is contained at the location of discovery, repurposed as Site-9510. At all times, its joints must be chained down using maximum-tensile strength cabling and shackles. Once per day, the anomaly should be fueled with 1000 liters of Type-O blood. After feeding periods, it is safe to study and test for two hours. Its cockpit should not be interacted with under any circumstances. Personnel are advised to follow lathe safety rules around the chassis.
If SCP-9510 breaks free from its mooring, personnel are to evacuate immediately. A detachment from Mobile Task Force Mu-4 “Debuggers" is on standby in order to force its self-repair and dormant periods, at which point it can be re-secured. As a precaution, if SCP-9510 cannot be subdued before breaking containment, its containment chamber is armed with a nuclear warhead. Activation details are classified Level 4/9510.
Description: Intelligence recovered on SCP-9510 confirms that it is a prototype of the Global Occult Coalition’s MK.IV Ultra-Heavy Engagement Chassis (Orange Suit), which sought to enhance the MK.III’s durability, longevity, and lethality with minimal resupply. However, it vanished during its first sortie. In light of the massive writeoff incurred by losing the MK.IV prototype, the GOC abandoned the project in favor of maintaining and modifying their existing UHEC MK.III fleet.
Thermal and X-ray imaging suggests that the pilot inside SCP-9510’s cockpit is effectively a disembodied brain kept alive in an aqueous solution, the cockpit machinery having reconfigured itself into a simulacrum of the human body providing life support and basic kinesiological function. A diagnostic readout located on its inner thigh confirms brain activity but not cardiovascular function; SCP-9510 has most likely supplanted that need with direct nutrient injection and electrical stimulation. Orichalcum shielding lining the cockpit has prevented all attempts at telepathic communication; it is unclear at this time if the pilot is conscious.
When active, SCP-9510 is a hypercarnivore that primarily preys on megafauna. The biomass consumed is used to keep both the UHEC functional and its pilot alive. SCP-9510 has refused all attempts to open the cockpit and will kill to prevent this occurrence. Daily feeding of blood has mitigated this requirement; the machine will not exhibit hostility except when seeking food or defending its cockpit.
SCP-9510 features a necrobotic self-repair mechanism that cannibalizes both organic and inorganic matter to reconstruct itself from damage short of catastrophic existence failure, and life-support systems that are capable of sustaining a pilot’s brain past the point of organ failure and cell necrosis by supplementing and bypassing other bodily functions. Diagnostic readings suggest that its hypercarnivory is a result of its self-repair mechanisms having been optimized for proteins, sulfates, and hydrocarbons.
Addendum: Discovery
SCP-9510 was initially recovered during containment operations of awakened Sarkic megafauna within the Santorini Archipelago of the Mediterranean Sea, consisting of an uncovered kariik (an SK-BIO TYPE-005 organism used as a temple) guarded by a pair of SK-BIO TYPE-001 megafauna used as simultaneous shock troops and long-term sentries. As Mobile Task Forces Nu-7 (“Hammer Down”) and Tau-5 (“Samsara”) prepared to engage the pair of anomalies, SCP-9510 abruptly manifested within the combat zone.
Foundation forces held back to assess the abrupt change of mission parameters. During this time, SCP-9510 used its laser weaponry to butcher both TYPE-001 instances before moving towards the kariik on Santorini. Upon entering the structure, it proceeded to slaughter and consume the inhabiting cultists, before killing the kariik by consuming most of its brain, liver, and lungs before shutting down for self-repair.
Casualties incurred during initial containment and understanding of SCP-9510’s diet and dormancy cycles included a dozen members of Nu-7, forty D-Class subjects,and two batches of Samsara operatives. Rather than risk further casualties and potential breach of containment by relocating the anomaly, the kariik itself was decontaminated by Beta-7 (“Maz Hatters”) and converted into Site-9510 for the express purpose of studying and containing SCP-9510.
Addendum: Modifications to UHEC Specification
Beyond the prototype’s initial advancements over the GOC UHEC MK.III in production, SCP-9510 has undergone extreme biomechanical modifications and augmentations, none of which meet the GOC’s engineering standards and several of which are known to have been discarded as too radical by Sarkic cybernetic cults and Mekhanist bioengineering sects. These alterations include:
- A biomechanical skin composed of an extremophilic ecosystem loosely coupled to SCP-9510’s outer shell, acting as a microbial factory. The microbes inhabiting the skin serve as a self-repairing, hyper-adaptable sensory apparatus enabling full perception across visual, thermal, acoustic, and thaumic spectrums with a full spherical range of vision.
- An internal munitions printer capable of recycling inorganic material such as plastic, metal, and gunpowder into ammunition for SCP-9510’s arsenal
- An alchemical reactor capable of recycling organic material into fuel for SCP-9510’s engines.
- Ventilation shafts on SCP-9510’s chassis, transmogrified into mouths with human teeth. The teeth in these shafts can regrow enamel quickly enough to maintain their dental integrity while processing almost a kiloton of organic material per hour.
- Tartarean cutting lasers secured to the shoulders and hands by hand-forged iron nails. The lasing unit houses a myriad of ritually bound Maxwell’s daimons, capable of stimulating photonic emission in excess of 100% efficiency and ritually shackled to targeting and computer vision algorithms. This serves as SCP-9510’s primary offensive weapon against megafauna, allowing it to kill prey orders of magnitude larger than itself in a matter of seconds via lethal fragmentation. The nails securing SCP-9510’s lasers benefit from its self-repair mechanisms, but have remained coated in rust since containment.
When recovered by the Foundation, the organic material incorporated into SCP-9510's plating was dated to over ten thousand years old.
