Special Containment Procedures: SCP-9209 is temporarily housed for study at Site-11 in a standard humanoid containment cell. Books and non-mechanical toys are to be provided upon request. Four (4) Lang Reality Anchors are installed externally around the chamber perimeter and are to remain operational at all times.
Personnel seeking direct interaction with SCP-9209 must hold a minimum Level 4 clearance and receive prior approval from the assigned Research Supervisor. A mandatory psychological evaluation is required following all direct interactions. Personnel reporting distress following contact are to be evaluated within 24 hours.
Personnel assigned to observation shifts are subject to the same mandatory psychological evaluation as direct interaction participants. Staff who report unsolicited contact initiated by SCP-9209 through the observation glass are to notify the Research Supervisor and may be reassigned at the supervisor's discretion. Psychological evaluations following interaction are to be conducted by personnel with no prior contact with SCP-9209.
SCP-9209-1 is not to be removed from SCP-9209's presence for longer than fifteen (15) minutes, and must be returned immediately upon request. Personnel who report hearing SCP-9209-1 from within or near the containment area are to vacate the surrounding corridor immediately.
Description: SCP-9209 is a caucasian male of approximately 14 years of age, standing 1.45 meters in height, with pale skin and shoulder-length dirty blonde hair. It is fully verbal, with fluency in French, Latin, and English. It has demonstrated basic levels of education as well as an acute awareness of historical events across multiple centuries. Two (2) large white feathered wings extend from its upper back, though it has not been observed utilizing them for flight. SCP-9209 was recovered wearing clothing consistent with late 19th-century clerical dress, and currently wears cotton garments provided by the Foundation.
SCP-9209 is typically non-aggressive during periods of containment. Outside of scheduled sessions, SCP-9209 has been observed reading, sitting in prolonged silence, and on several occasions standing at the observation glass for extended periods without making contact. It responds selectively to personnel, engaging some individuals in conversation through the glass while ignoring others entirely.
SCP-9209's primary anomalous effect is the ability to manifest involuntary recall of guilt-associated memories. The effect operates without physical contact and does not appear to require deliberate effort. Additional reality-bending capabilities have been observed, including disruption of nearby electrical systems and telekinetic manipulation of objects. The ceiling of these capabilities has not been established, as comprehensive testing is prohibited.
SCP-9209 carries an antique oak Regina music box, designated SCP-9209-1. Attempts to collect this item for study have been met with hostility. When wound, SCP-9209-1 plays a slow, distorted composition that does not correspond to any piece in existing musical databases. Live exposure produces symptoms including anxiety, involuntary recollection of suppressed memories, and in several documented cases, acute psychological crisis accompanied by hyperventilation and loss of motor control. Recordings of SCP-9209-1 exhibit no anomalous properties.
Discovery Log
The Foundation and its predecessor organizations documented incidents consistent with SCP-9209's anomalous behaviors as early as the 19th century. These incidents were never linked to a single entity during the period in which they occurred, a result of inconsistent record-keeping across regional offices, the failure to digitize a significant portion of pre-20th century files, and the assumption among investigators that the scale and distance of individual incidents were not the result of a single entity.
The 1903 Hollowick Textile Factory incident (see Addendum 9209-1) produced the first casualty count large enough to prompt a dedicated containment effort. Despite investigations of future incident sites, the entity was unable to be located.
In 20██, an incident in ████████ prompted a Foundation response. SCP-9209 was intercepted using thermal imaging deployed via aerial surveillance and was successfully recovered. Cooperation during transit was noted as atypically high.

SUBJECT: SCP-9209
INTERVIEWER: D-3524
LEAD RESEARCHER: Dr. Joseph Wheffle
NOTE: SCP-9209 had been unresponsive to all prior contact attempts. Session was conducted using a D-Class intermediary at Dr. Wheffle's recommendation.
<BEGIN LOG>
D-3524 enters. SCP-9209 is seated on the floor.
D-3524: Hello?
SCP-9209 does not respond.
D-3524: Can you understand me?
Dr. Wheffle [via intercom]: It's been non-responsive previously, completely expected. Just keep talking.
D-3524: I'm not here to cause any trouble. They just want me to ask you some questions.
SCP-9209: Then… ask them.
D-3524: What's your name?
SCP-9209: I don't… use it anymore.
D-3524: What do I call you, then?
SCP-9209 stands, revealing its wings. D-3524 steps back.
SCP-9209: Whatever you like. It won't… matter for long.
D-3524: What are you?
SCP-9209: A judge.
D-3524: Of what?
SCP-9209: Wrongdoers. Reprobates. Sinners.
D-3524: So what, you’re some kind of angel?
SCP-9209: …Is that what you think?
D-3524: Angels judge people. Decide who's good, who's bad. That's what you're doing, right?
SCP-9209: I don't decide anything. I can see it. The guilt people carry. The things they've buried.
D-3524: And then what?
SCP-9209: I make them… answer for it.
D-3524 appears afraid to speak.
SCP-9209: My father believed our family alone could see what others couldn't. The moral order beneath everything.
D-3524: And you believe him?
SCP-9209: I believe… That you… Are a sinner.
D-3524: Come again?
SCP-9209: You've been hiding it… from those around you. But I see it.
D-3524: I don't know what you're talking about.
SCP-9209: Yes… You do.
D-3524 does not respond.
SCP-9209: Confess… your sins. What did you do?
D-3524: Nothing. I haven't done anything.
SCP-9209: That isn't… what I see.
D-3524: Then you're seeing wrong.
SCP-9209 pauses, and begins winding SCP-9209-1.
D-3524: What is that? What are you doing?
SCP-9209-1 begins to play. D-3524 steps back.
D-3524: Stop. Turn it off.
D-3524 presses his hands to his ears, and his breathing becomes unsteady.
D-3524: That's not- I didn't have a choice.
Dr. Wheffle [via intercom]: D-3524, stay calm-
D-3524: I'm telling you I didn't- it wasn't my fault-
D-3524 stops speaking. He appears to become visibly distressed.
D-3524: Oh god.
SCP-9209: You… remember.
D-3524: Please. Please turn it off.
SCP-9209: I can forgive… your sins.
D-3524 begins to [DATA EXPUNGED]. He collapses to the floor and is terminated from self-inflicted wounds twelve seconds later.
SCP-9209-1 stops playing. SCP-9209 turns toward the observation glass.
SCP-9209: Send the next one.
No response from Foundation personnel.
SCP-9209: I said… send the next one.
Dr. Wheffle [via intercom]: We're concluding the session.
SCP-9209: There are more of them. I know there are more.
Dr. Wheffle [via intercom]: The session is over.
SCP-9209: Send… the next one.
Overhead lighting in the chamber begins to malfunction. A low vibration is recorded in the walls. Dr. Wheffle orders LRA activation. There is a twelve-second delay while technicians attempt to bring the LRAs online. The containment door ruptures before they can be successfully activated.
<END LOG>
POST-INCIDENT SUMMARY: SCP-9209 moved through three sections of Site-11 over the following thirty-two minutes. Eleven personnel were approached directly and asked to account for specific actions from their past. Eight of these instances resulted in termination, either self-inflicted or [DATA EXPUNGED] by SCP-9209.
Mobile Task Forces arrived on site twenty-eight minutes following the initial breach. The unit activated the onsite SCRANTON Reality Anchor systems, successfully suppressing SCP-9209. SCP-9209 did not resist re-containment.
Containment procedures were revised immediately following this incident, restricting D-Class personnel from direct interaction with SCP-9209 under any circumstances.
SCP-9209 refused all contact for nine (9) days following Incident 9209-A. On 07/08/20██, it approached the observation glass and repeatedly requested Dr. Joseph Wheffle. A session was arranged two days later.

SUBJECT: SCP-9209
INTERVIEWER: Dr. Joseph Wheffle
<BEGIN LOG>
Dr. Wheffle: You asked to speak with me.
SCP-9209: I wanted to examine you.
Dr. Wheffle: Why?
SCP-9209: I see you differently than the others. I wanted to know if that was still true… up close.
Dr. Wheffle: And is it?
SCP-9209 appears to study him for a moment without answering.
SCP-9209: You… are not a sinner.
Dr. Wheffle chooses not to respond.
Dr. Wheffle: You mentioned your father in the last session.
SCP-9209: I… remember what I said.
Dr. Wheffle: I'd like to understand it better. That moral order he taught you-
SCP-9209: I'd rather… you didn't.
Dr. Wheffle: I’m just trying to understand-
SCP-9209: It isn't something I'm going to discuss with you.
Dr. Wheffle: Then, your mother. Or, the music box-
SCP-9209: No.
Dr. Wheffle: I haven't finished the question.
SCP-9209: You don't… need to.
Dr. Wheffle: Well then. What would you like to talk about?
SCP-9209: I haven't decided… yet.
Approximately five minutes pass without exchange.
Dr. Wheffle: The three personnel you didn't terminate during the breach. Why?
SCP-9209: They were truthful. They didn't hide… from what I saw.
Dr. Wheffle: And for that you forgave them?
SCP-9209: Acknowledgement isn't absolution. But it's… a start. People like you will never understand that.
Dr. Wheffle: Why not?
SCP-9209: Because… admitting what you've done means accepting what you are.
Dr. Wheffle: How did you come to understand that?
SCP-9209: I… watched what happened to people who couldn't.
Dr. Wheffle: Is there someone specific you're referencing?
SCP-9209: …My mother.
Dr. Wheffle: What happened to her?
SCP-9209: My father decided she was… owed a judgment. He was… certain of it. The way he was certain of everything.
Dr. Wheffle: But you weren't?
SCP-9209: …No.
Dr. Wheffle does not respond immediately.
Dr. Wheffle: How do you know you're not doing the same thing to other innocent people?
SCP-9209: I can see the sins. I don't… invent them.
Dr. Wheffle: He taught you what sin looks like. Where did your perception of sin come from, if not from him?
SCP-9209 grows agitated.
SCP-9209: Get out.
Dr. Wheffle: I'm simply asking you to consider-
SCP-9209: (Yelling) I am nothing like him. I will never be like him. Get out. Get out now, or I swear I will-
SCP-9209 does not finish the sentence. Dr. Wheffle writes something down and rises to exit.
SCP-9209: She taught me something different. My mother.
Dr. Wheffle stops without turning around.
SCP-9209: Nevermind.
Dr. Wheffle exits without responding.

Conducted three weeks following Interview Log 9209-B. SCP-9209 had declined two scheduled sessions in the interim.
DATE: 08/03/20█
SUBJECT: SCP-9209
INTERVIEWER: Dr. Joseph Wheffle
<BEGIN LOG>
Dr. Wheffle enters the chamber. SCP-9209 is standing in the center of the room, facing the door.
SCP-9209: You were wrong.
Dr. Wheffle: About which part?
SCP-9209: What you said. That I'm… the same as him. I have been thinking about it, and you're wrong.
Dr. Wheffle: I didn't say you were the same as him.
SCP-9209: You wanted to.
Dr. Wheffle sits down.
Dr. Wheffle: All right. Tell me why I was wrong.
SCP-9209 sits across from him.
SCP-9209: He defied the moral order for his own… purposes. I don't. The people I have punished were guilty. Every one of them.
Dr. Wheffle: How do you know?
SCP-9209: Because I see true sin. The real atrocities.
Dr. Wheffle: So did he.
A pause.
SCP-9209: …What?
Dr. Wheffle: You said he hurt people who didn't deserve it. But you've also told me he could see guilt. Same as you. So either he was wrong about what he saw, or he saw correctly and chose to hurt them anyway.
SCP-9209 does not respond immediately.
Dr. Wheffle: Which is it?
SCP-9209: He… chose to hurt them. He saw sin where there wasn't any. He twisted what he could see to justify-
Dr. Wheffle: How do you know that's not what you do?
SCP-9209: Because I can see the difference.
Dr. Wheffle: He would have said the same.
Silence.
SCP-9209: He said sinners were recognizable. That they… carried their sin in the way they held themselves. The way they spoke. The things they were afraid of. He told me I could see it too. That it was a responsibility.
Dr. Wheffle: Did he teach you what to look for?
SCP-9209: He… yes. When I was young.
Dr. Wheffle: Then you're both looking for the same thing.
A long pause.
SCP-9209: My mother used to tell me stories. At night, when he wasn't there. About people who had done terrible things and… found their way back. She said the guilt a person carried wasn't proof of what they were. She said it was proof that… they knew better. And knowing better was the beginning of being better.
Dr. Wheffle does not respond.
SCP-9209: She used to tell me that what I could see wasn't… a sentence. That it could be something else. If I wanted it to be.
Dr. Wheffle: What happened to that?
SCP-9209: He made an example out of her. To show me what the world was. How he… wanted me to see it.
Dr. Wheffle: You lost your mother. You lost whatever chance at being better she gave you. The only thing that survived was what he had built inside you. You were angry, and it was the only thing you knew to respond to it with.
SCP-9209: Don't.
Dr. Wheffle: I'm not saying it to diminish you. I'm saying it because I think you already know all this.
SCP-9209 does not answer. It looks down at SCP-9209-1 in its hands.
Dr. Wheffle: The music box. It was hers?
SCP-9209: She played it for me. When I was small. It was a… different song then. Something gentler. I don't remember it anymore. Only this one.
Dr. Wheffle does not respond.
SCP-9209: I have been so certain. For so long. And I don't…
Dr. Wheffle: You don't what?
SCP-9209: I don't know which one of them I've been… listening to. All this time. I thought I knew. I was very sure I knew.
A very long silence.
SCP-9209: She would not have wanted this. Any of this.
Dr. Wheffle: No. I don't think she would have.
SCP-9209 does not respond. It sets SCP-9209-1 carefully on the floor in front of it.
SCP-9209: I’ve been doing this for a very long time. And I don't-
A long silence.
SCP-9209: If I stopped… What would be left?
Dr. Wheffle takes a moment before answering.
Dr. Wheffle: I don't know. But I think it's worth finding out.
SCP-9209 and Dr. Wheffle sit in silence for an additional eight minutes before the session is concluded..

Addendum 9209-1
Following the containment breach of 07/01/20██, Dr. Wheffle submitted a formal request to the Foundation's Historical Archive to investigate SCP-9209's origins. The following is an abbreviated article retrieved from regional newspaper records filed under European Anomalous Event Index, Ref. EUR-1903-██. Translation performed by Foundation Archival Division.

Authorities were called to the Hollowick Textile Factory on the outskirts of Silvertown in the early hours of Tuesday morning following reports of screaming heard as far as two miles from the property. What local Gendarmerie discovered upon arrival has left investigators without explanation and the surrounding community in a state of profound distress.
Of the 629 workers present for the night shift, 532 were found dead. The majority of victims showed signs of extreme physical trauma too severe to identify a cause of death. The factory floor, according to officers present at the scene, bore evidence of considerable destruction, with several load-bearing support columns found sheared clean through.
The 97 surviving workers, many of whom remain under medical observation, have provided accounts that authorities have been unable to reconcile with physical evidence. While investigators have noted broad similarities across independent testimonies, the accounts contain significant inconsistencies and have not been treated as reliable by officials. A number of survivors have described a figure of small stature present on the factory floor prior to the incident. Descriptions of the figure vary considerably between witnesses.
A number of workers have described being approached individually before the violence began, though accounts of what was said differ significantly. Several survivors have stated that some workers who were spoken to were later found among the dead, while others were not.
Authorities have issued no formal statement regarding a suspect. Investigations are ongoing.
