Item Designation: SCP-9210

Classification: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: Foundation contacts in the United States Department of Education and similar agencies at the state, county, and local levels have implemented enrollment limits to avoid triggering SCP-9210. This has been successful in preventing JACK events for the past 25 years, though uncertainty as to whether or not SCP-9210 persists means that reclassification to Neutralized is denied.

In the event SCP-9210 does occur, any buildings in a 100 meter radius are to be demolished. Witnesses are to be amnesticized.

Cover stories are to be disseminated for both affected buildings and individuals, including Zeta-314 "Witness Protection," Beta-9818 "New Mall," and Gamma-871 "Sinkhole," among others. Field personnel will determine the appropriate cover story to use.

Description: SCP-9210 are anomalous zones in the continental United States mapping to enrollment boundaries of public elementary schools that enroll over 10 times the number of students as the next most populated.

After unknown criteria are fulfilled, homes that have at least one student enrolled in a school within SCP-9210 will spontaneously have an exact copy of the school building containing their child's class manifest 1 kilometer above their home. This results in total destruction of the home. The drop occurs in a way such that any inhabitants are left unharmed, though resulting debris may still cause injury. Copies created by SCP-9210 appear to be perfect replicas with all classroom supplies intact, and display little to no anomalous characteristics.

This effect (designated a JACK event) affects suburban single-family homes, with apartments and homes in urban environments being unaffected. This effect typically occurs once per student. Repeat events are uncommon, but allow time for victims to evacuate.

[Notice]

SCP-9210 was discovered following Foundation employee Dr. Lulu Kidd's home located in Nantucket, Massachusetts was destroyed in a JACK event. Dr. Kidd's child, age 5, was sick at home with mild influenza and was talking with his mother. Standard Foundation listening software installed in all employee homes recorded the following audio:

"But mooooooom, I can't miss class. Show-and-tell was today!"

At conclusion of this statement, a JACK event triggered, manifesting an exact copy of Nantucket Elementary School over Dr. Kidd's home, completely obliterating it.

The child was unharmed, but asked if a JACK event meant that school was cancelled. Low-dose amnestics were administered, and Dr. Kidd's family relocated closer to Site-23.
